I have one of these little beauties, we call her "Emerald" because she's um, green. If I were only sewing my own clothes I might have shelled out the $400 and gotten a size specific Matilda, but I sew clothes for all different shapes of people. A Matilda in every size would cost a fortune and where would I put them all? Emerald has been a great low budget solution for me, cranked in tight she's maybe a size 4 and cranked all the way out she's maybe an 18-20. This range covers 90%+ of my customers. She is very small busted, so frequently I have to pin foam bra cups on her to get the shape right. But it's easier to add than subtract. The body is plastic with fabric over it, so you can't pin things to it as easily as I would like, but pinning is possible at an angle. The feet are plastic as well and not super heavy duty, and the plastic cranking mechanisms are stiff and a little hard to use. I've had it maybe 2 years and use it all the time, so far it's holding up to my little shop and has more than paid for itself.
