Interlining & Interfacing for every need.

The Vilene wash away stabilizer is the ideal stabilizer for lace or other free standing embroidery designs. It is not a film and looks and feels like fabric. It is very similar to other non-woven or pellon type fiber based stabilizers. Once you have finished stitching with Vilene, cut away as much as possible and immerse it in water and it will dissolve leaving just your stitching. Measures 12" x 10 yards.

  • Wash away and water soluble
  • Ideal for free standing embroidery designs such as lace
  • Both looks and feels like fabric
  • Resembles other cut away backings
  • Sew-in

Hello! It's really intended for lace or other embroidery designs. Have you tried Stay Tape (TPE17)? That would accomplish your goal. Thanks for your question.
