My Singer machine does not have a straight stitch needle plate available. I think my next alternative is tear away stabilizer as I sew the seams. Do you carry a tear away stabilizer used for lightweights such as charmeuse and voiles? Thanks for your help. The www had limited help.

Could this fusible interfacing be used to bind fabric? I am looking for a product like “Seams Great” but wider - would this work?

Hello, this interfacing would definitely help to stabilize the fabric and the seam, but it is very different from "Seams Great". "Seam Great" is a nylon material that is sewn into the seam. The tricot interfacing can be ironed to the fabric to stabilize it, but it's a softer fabric.

A:
This is a sheer fusible tricot. The other fusible tricot interfacing we carry is a mid-weight tricot with a cross-wise stretch. Contact us for a free pack of samples swatches, our part no. SAMINTF.

Could I please get the manufactures instructions for applying this interfacing?

A:
1. Pre-wash all fabrics without fabric softeners. Pre-test interfacing on materials before starting. 2. Cut fusible interfacing per pattern instructions. Cut away seam allowance if needed. 3. Preheat iron to wool (medium heat) setting with steam. 4. Place the rough side of the interfacing onto the back (wrong side) of the material to be bonded. Cover with a light, dry pressing cloth. Press and hold iron with medium pressure for 10-15 seconds. Repeat by lifting the iron to a new area and pressing, slightly overlapping previous area until entire surface is bonded. 6. Allow pieces to cool. If more ironing is needed iron an additional 5 seconds from front of project. Sew as needed per project instructions.

Is there a benefit of using the tricot over your other woven interfacings?

A:
Tricot interfacing is used on knits and other stretchy materials because of its softness and elasticity.
