What is the difference between a Brother 1034D and a Brother 1034DX? Do extra feet fit same?

A:
Hi Leslie, we presented your question to our supplier. The 1034DX is sold exclusively through a large retailer and comes with a few other feet. The feet are interchangeable and could be used on either model. Thanks for your question.

Yes, we have a lot of serger threads available. Maxi-Lock serging thread is probably the best known, but we also have our own style (SPT1* and SPT2*), as well as Coats SureLock Thread.

The lower knife is our part no. PRT6073 and the upper knife is PRT6074. We don't carry the stitch tongue, but those parts can be ordered through Brother's Parts Department at 1-855-803-5985.

What machines do we sell that will perform a rolled hem?

A:
Any sewing machine will do a rolled hem if they have the correct foot attachment. Machines would require an additional purchase (we call it a narrow hem foot). Also the sergers include a built in rolled hem function.

Have the Urge to Surge?

Don't be intimidated by what looks complicated. If you are thinking of buying a serger, do it now and, you will be happy you did. Place your order and watch YouTube videos while you wait and, when it comes, you'll be ready to serge. It comes with spools of cheap thread that will serge at least fifty feet of seams for practice. The loopers will run out first and, then you should have made enough mistakes to put on a quality thread. Order some larger spools when ordering a serger because you will need them. The new models don't come with an instructional CD but available online. If you are considering taking your sewing to the next level, start here!
