As I began to assemble the thread rack, I became puzzled by how exactly the main peg in the center that comes in two sections actually LOCKED in place. If it IS in fact as simple as pushing one into the other just as the small thread pegs are pushed into the center column, then maybe mine is defective because the fit is so very off, unsecured, and wobbly that the top half simply gives out and topples over when any weight of sliding thread spools on to it is introduced. Am I supposed to add wood

The spool comes with 40 pegs but can hold 80 spools. Where can I get additional pegs?

You will not require additional pegs. It holds 80 regular size spools (2 spools per peg) or it can hold 40 cone spools (1 cone per peg).

Not very sturdy; doesn't really hold 40 Maxi Lock cones

I'm VERY disappointed in this product; I bought two of them with high hopes. Although the pegs are alternating, they are still too close together, so you can't use all of them because then the cones don't sit far enough back not to fall off. I have the Maxi-Lock serger cones. In addition, not all the holes for the pegs that hold the cones are properly drilled, so they come out at different angles, exacerbating the first problem. The dowels that hold the vertical pieces in place are not properly sized and I had to put tape over them to get them to fit snuggly into their holes. Finally, the entire piece itself is wobbly. It fell over several times as I was trying to put my cones on it. The base is Masonite and is likely to scratch any surface you put it on. I used self-adhesive cork over it to protect my table. Unfortunately, I'm sure with all these modifications, they are no longer returnable. I wouldn't recommend purchasing them.

Super wobbly - tips over and only stays in one position

I wanted to post a review after I have had a while to use it, but it really doesn’t work well. If it’s stationary then it’s ok but defeats the purpose of having a turning rack. My thread is all Gutermann thread and they’re all the same size. The rack is not balanced. It’s very wobbly, some peg holes aren’t deep enough and the pegs fall out. Would not recommend. Wawak is great, but this product isn’t the best.

It's a craft project

When I opened the box, I was taken aback by the unassembled nature of the spool rack. I hadn't been aware that I was purchasing a project. It sat unassembled for a while. Eventually, I came across the box again in the regular decluttering I do of my sewing spaces and decided it was time. The fit of the main post and the base wasn't great. The dowels meant to secure the pieces together weren't properly centered. I sanded things until they fit together reasonably well, then I used wood glue to properly secure the pieces together. I sanded down each one of the spool dowels, then glued them into place, too. I got really creative and made a little crown of miniature wooden spools on the top. I printed the whole thing and I plan on spray painting it a pretty sparkly rose gold. It's all about the effort you put into the project.

Wobbly. Falls apart when rotated

Really poor quality. The two pieces that hold pegs don’t line up and the top section falls off when I rotate unit. Also, there is no way this can accommodate 40 cones.

Good as long as you lower your expectations

I bought this to hold wooly thread for my serger. Based on a previous review, I didn't expect a full 40-cone capacity. I am able to fit closer to 24 cones comfortably. The unit also seemed a bit wobbly when assembling, but it seems to balance out once it's loaded. Adding wood glue in the join between the upper and lower sections would probably help to further secure the piece.
