I love that I can iron linen shirts with minimal steam and they look like they came from the cleaners. I make quilts and this iron flattens bulky seam intersections beautifully. I love that it only steams when I ask it to so no more steam burned fingers. I bought my first Hot Steam 4-5 years ago and just replaced it. It worked perfectly with almost daily use 4-10 hours a day. I dropped it once and only had to replace the non-stick shoe. The iron kept on working perfectly until recently when it started spitting rust. Cleaning did not correct the spitting. I probably could have gotten longer life had I read the manual and better performed the minimal maintenance required. I replaced the resin beads probably less frequently than I should have (I find it hard to judge the color change) and alas, I never cleaned out the in-line red filter which was pretty gunked up when I finally looked at it. Despite the neglect this iron never leaked and lasted longer than any iron I've ever had.
When my old Rowenta boiler died, I found that I couldn’t replace the plastic housing that had failed. The two immediately apparent options were (1) spend $300+ on a replacement or (2) limp by with a regular iron until the next Joann sale (Christmas?). A little research revealed the gravity feed option. There was surprisingly little information about them online, but those who have them seem to love them. I decided to take a chance. I’ve now had it a couple weeks. It has a very different feel from my old iron, and I expected that it would take a little while to get to know it. After a couple evenings, I was sold. I wondered whether the weight would be an ergonomic problem but it isn’t. At first I wasn’t sure whether it produced as much steam as I wanted, and then I got a feel for the timing of the button and discovered that I could have all the steam I want. I love that individual parts can be replaced. Definitely recommend!
This is my 2nd iron, only because I dropped and broke my 1st. This is the best iron and service is extremely fast. Ordered late Friday afternoon and my iron was here before noon on Monday. Awesome!
I have had this iron for over a year now and use it all the time -- it's still going strong. It replaced my Rowenta when it died. I especially love that it doesn't have an auto shutoff feature -- it's always ready when I need it. It gets hot quickly and stays hot, and the steam is amazing. The non-stick sole plate that comes with it is awesome -- I've never had anything stick to it, including fusible webbing. Ironing is much more enjoyable now, too!
I've had this iron for a long time and it's perfect. I highly recommend it!
