Why is it difficult to insert or remove the needle from my Dennison Gun?

A:
Make sure that the needle locking mechanism hasn’t moved out of the gun. Sometimes when this locking mechanism is turned- it slides out of the gun a little and acts as a barrier to the needle, either not allowing the needle to leave the gun- or be inserted into the gun.

Why would the ejector rod in a Dennison Gun bend?

A:
There are a couple of reasons why this may happen. If the fasteners jammed inside the gun, and the trigger wasn’t held in to remove the fastener clip, this could cause the ejector rod to bend. If the needle is bent this could happen if the gun is tossed onto the counter, if the gun was dropped, or if the needle was forced through some heavy material) the ejector rod will also start to bend from rubbing up inside the needle. Also, if the needles are dull and the fasteners are not being severed properly, the ejector rod will start to bend while trying to force the fasteners through the needle. Dull needles and bent ejector rods are the main reason why the guns will jam.

What would cause my Dennison gun to jam up?

A:
Jams in the gun could be caused by a number of things: 1. Is the needle channel obstructed in any way? - Try cleaning the channel or change the needle. 2. Has the pusher that forces the fastener out of the gun been damaged? - If this part of the gun has been bent by trying to force the fasteners a new gun may need to be purchased. 3. Is the needle in the gun properly? - Make sure that the long slot of the needle is lined up and parallel to the long open slot of the gun. 4. Are the fasteners in good working order? – Fasteners in time may not be as functional, they are made of either nylon or polypropylene which absorb and release moisture when sitting around. As they get older the will become more brittle and may not function as well. Try changing the fastener clip. Are partially used clips being removed from the gun properly? – Make sure when removing that the trigger is pushed in fully, and proceed by lifting the clip upward.

Can you use different types of fasteners and needles in the Dennison gun?

A:
The supplies that we carry are for the Mark III Fine Fabric Gun, and will only work for that particular gun. Likewise, is supplies were purchased for a different model Dennison gun, they would not work with the Mark III Fine Fabric Gun.
