Double-sided transparent tape that can be stitched though.
Dritz Wash Away Wonder Tape is a double-sided transparent tape that disappears after the first washing. Easily stitch through it without gumming your needle. Plus, you can see through it when sewing so you don't have to guess. It makes sewing easy by holding seams and hems of fabric together. Measures 1/4" x 10 yards.

The one thing in my sewing room that I can never have too much of. Use it for so many things. Zippers, light weight, slippery fabrics, accurate patch pocket placement, long garment facings, collar stand closure. I do notice a change in the product with the different label, but I can make it work. I store it in a small, plastic zip bag because it does “dry out” quickly, but so did the previous product. Half the price of other retailers. Wish it came in longer lengths.
One difference between the Collins brand and the Dritz brand version is that the Dritz is on a plastic strip whereas the Collins was on a paper strip. I assume that is supposed to help keep it from drying out. Not sure it helps. Definitely harder to tear. I DO find that it helps to slightly moisten the tape as you use it. Makes it stick better. No, not good for hours of hold. "Leather tape" is good for that but does not wash out and can make your needle sticky (keep rubbing alcohol handy). Also, try not to put the leather tape directly where you are going to sew. As of 1/16/2021, Wash Away Wonder Tape is not in stock. Just like many other things in life. Sad, but not much anyone can do about it. Another option is glue sticks (like school glue). Sue
I love this stuff, I use it all the time, it takes the frustration away from hemming and other things! But I have kids, I constantly have to stop sewing to tend to them! This stuff doesn’t even hold for 12 hours! It’s wasted if I have to walk away from it before sewing, and not to mention, even more frustrating when you find out it’s not sticking and you’ve already started. 😔 I’m very disappointed in the quality. If I was able to use it then sew it right after, it’s not a problem, but that doesn’t happen in my house.
I use this exclusively for putting in invisible zippers. Holds zipper in place with no pinning.
I have been sewing for 50+ years, and now don't put a zipper in without it! Not good for a strong hold, but good for holding hems, zippers, etc.

I have ordered this product multiple times from Wawak, and until my most recent order have received Collins brand (blue and white packaging) which is fantastic. It’s a game changer. Especially for zippers. This last time, I received Dritz brand. At the time of my order, there were two photos on this listing - one of the roll of tape, the other of the blue and white COLLINS packaging. Instead, I received the tan and red Dritz packaging - and this product is useless. It does not even stay stuck for 24 hours. Wawak customer service is not being helpful in resolving this. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere from now on.

So useful for hemming difficult fabrics like curves, knits & slippery textures. Great for holding zippers, patch pockets or trims in place without the distortion of pins, or the requirement to remove pins or clips during attachment. I've not had issues with different brands or packaging, but occassionally the tape will dry out and loose adhesion if applied and left for a few days before securing. The tape rinses away easily under a tap or during the first washing. Wawak offers the best price I've seen for the authentic, name brand version.
