I have the ELB1GY and the patches are cracking or shrinking after cleaning. Do you know what’s happening?

We recommend that the patches not be cleaned and should be removed prior to cleaning. DLI had this to say: “Patches cracking, shrinking or darkening could either be from the cleaning cycle or a combination of the cleaning and drying process together. The dry cleaning solvent will remove the oil out of the leather skin. This makes the skin dry and brittle. Then the added heat from the drying cycle could aggravate the condition more causing the result you see. And now, there are different dry cleaning solvents available. Some are stronger, some weaker. This could explain why some users may see poor results and others have no problems with the patches. When leather and suede garments are dry cleaned they usually have a conditioner added to the cycle to maintain the skins softness. A garment with leather only on the elbow patches will not get this additional conditioner.”
