Why would I choose a woven over a non-woven interfacing?

A:
Woven interfacing has a true grain direction unlike non-woven interfacing. Woven interfacing tends to last longer and be stronger than non-woven. However, when using it, it's important that the grain of the interfacing match the grain of the fabric that it's be applied to. For best result select an interfacing that is just a little lighter weight than the fabric you will use it on.

Excellent Cotton Fusible Interfacing

This woven cotton fusible is an excellent interfacing. It bonds well and has a smooth finish. One shouldn’t have any issues when working with fabrics: cut a desired piece and iron it by pressing firmly to bond whatever fabric you are working with. I've worked with a cotton-linen blend and a pure cotton fabric and had no issues at all. Any fabric will work. Initially, I was skeptical about purchasing it, because I questioned its bonding capabilities; however, after usage, the skepticism dissipated due to the great bonding quality of the product. I am accustomed to using Pellon SF101 Shape-flex (cotton woven interfacing) for many years, but due to limited availability and questionable price hikes, I made the choice to purchase this interfacing. Honestly, this cotton interfacing is very similar to Pellon SF101. The only major difference is its grey color, whereas Pellon SF101 comes in only black and white. Overall, I am glad with the purchase and will definitely buy more in the future.
