For cotton shirts and for more body, you would use a wigan. You will need to mind the weave direction. Non-woven does not have a grain line and will not need to be preshrunk, but will breakdown after multiple washings. Tricot will be softer and not as stiff, it tends to have a bit more of a stretch.

Tricot interfacing is used on knits and other stretchy materials because of its softness and elasticity.
