Great for ribbon, lousy for elastic by

If you're threading ravel-prone ribbon through a narrow casing, these are great. The ribbon fits through the slots on the bodkins, and the bodkins slip through the casing without much trouble. And the old-fashioned safety pin often rips right through the ribbon anyway.

Elastic is another matter altogether. It's very hard, if not impossible, to fit it through the slots; it is too heavy for the thin plastic and causes the bodkins to break just above the top slot, and they don't slide well--between the elastic and the bodkin there's too much friction. If your purpose is threading elastic, use a heavy safety pin; if ribbon, these are great.

Absolutely not worth it. Thin, lightweight plastic that bends when you don't want it to. Doesn't slide easily thru tight elastic casings and eventually breaks. I've had better luck with a safety pin and it took less time. The saving grace is that it's not expensive, but save your buck fifty and thread your elastic the "old fashioned" way. lol
