Wax chalk is great for soft porous fibers as it tends to be dispersed into the fibers and "disappear". If too much chalk was used on the garment and ironing won’t remove it- try taking the garment to a spotting board and apply direct steam. Recently, magic sponge erasers have been known to help remove stubborn wax chalk marks. Note though, that tightly spun or hard fibers have a hard time dispersing the wax when heated.
