It might just be me, but I ordered these hoping to see an improvement from the cheaper brands that I usually bought. Well even though they are very sharp, and I like being able to cut a full inch, I can’t get used to the thumb hole action. I want to just pick up and snip, with the same hand. On these I have to use two hands, to pick up, put my finger in and then cut. Too many steps to cut a thread. I hope others have better experiences. I will donate the four of mine to our sewing group and order new ones.
I don't use the thumb loop. I hold it with the loop on top & place my thumb toward the end of the clippers with my index finger on the bottom close to the blade. This works really well for me. I can't be without them.
