Swedish Tracing Paper is drapably soft yet strong enough to sew on. Be sure to base the pattern together first and try it on to check the fit. Great for making a durable long lasting pattern. 29"W x 10 yds. Swedish Tracing Paper is a fabric-like paper that you can use for tracing patterns.

The benefit over tissue paper is that it’s sturdier…and you can sew it together, which comes in handy when trying to check the fit of a pattern. For garments, it’s best to do a test run on fabric that is similar to the fabric you will be using for the project, but the Swedish Tracing Paper is great for checking the length of a sleeve, shoulder seams, etc.

TIP: When to use Swedish Tracing Paper:

Creating New Patterns and Designs: You can draw new pattern ideas directly onto the Swedish Tracing Paper with an ordinary pencil. We suggest you stitch up a sample directly from the paper and play with the shapes before moving to fabric.

When sewing to a specific size but you want the option of using the other sizes later, simply trace it. Save your pattern or use the pattern for cutting challenging fabrics. Trace the pattern onto the Swedish Tracing Paper, then cut out the pattern, leaving a 1/2″ margin around the pattern. When you pin the pattern to the fabric and cut it out, you can cut through both the paper and the fabric at the same time. This makes cutting much easier.
